"But in a still life, there is no end to our looking, we look in and in, to the world of things, in and in, as long as we can stand to look, as long as we take pleasure in looking".

Mark Doty

Spending time in nature is calming, it's the very essence of living... it sets our pace and creates our rhythm as our souls embrace the seasons.

Everything we do is true to our hearts its simple and authentic. Capturing the intention for a life lived from the heart, with every beat the desire for a stilled life grows stronger.

A Still Life, a fusion of creative workshops, gatherings and curated events within the village of Crathorne and the City of York, North Yorkshire.

Absolutely everyone deserves A Still Life.

"...when you walk with giants you're raised to their heights...roam with me and meet the selfless souls who embody "a still life".

Kirsty ~ The Alchemist...with an intuitive hand, the lines between art and floristry are spun. Discover within you a cornucopia of design, as seasons are sculptured and petals are forged.  Your instinct awakened, you trust Kirsty, with each moss covered branch she bends, intoxicated with her blend of textural blooms.  Confidently together you strive towards the unexpected, talents ignited, your inner magic alive.  Kirsty enables bravery, teasing botanical abandonment, discovering each evocative stem.  Flourished and strengthened in partnership you conjure "your undiscovered".

Vicky ~ The Nurturer...a wave of warmth will embrace you, followed with the quick realisation this lady will captivate you with her limitless ability to create beauty from a piece of timeworn linen, overlooked book or discarded hand written letter; all restored and restyled in a re-imagined form. Pause, and absorb her clarity of vision to "see" and place you firmly in your story. Let yourself sink into her innate creativity, your senses sparkling as you travel together with paints, inks and palettes for companions.  Effortlessly painting poetry with each brush stroke, pencil curve or sweeping line, Vicky has an enduring passion for others to achieve their potential and leave her company with their soul nourished and imagination aglow.

Looking from the window of her North Yorkshire cottage, Charlotte is inspired daily by the shifting light and colours of each moment the changing seasons offer. An explorer of new cities for photographic assignments, or just to wander - her love of travel provides engaging, evocative and immersive images.

Understanding brands in an instant Charlotte's work documents adventures and stories with honesty and depth. Working with quiet ease, as our in-house photographer, she understands the nuances and intricacies of our brand journey. In addition to Eve Wanders projects, leading photography workshops and creating all brand imagery for A Still Life, Charlotte joins Kirsty and Vicky in a creative collaboration available for bespoke brand, styling and photography projects for businesses looking for a distinctive and compelling identity.

Through her brand, Miss Kiki Salon, Kate produces art, fashion, books, short films and seasonal suppers that are designed to provide nourishment for the soul and to inspire new ideas amongst creatives and makers across the globe.

Her plant based food concept is heavily influenced by her travels across Scandinavia, the Middle East and Asia where the inspiring home cooks she has met along the way taught her the art of spicing and how to use herbs to elevate the simplest of ingredients.

"You are the books you read, the films you watch, the music you listen to, the people you meet, the dreams you have, the conversations you engage in.  You are what you take from these.  You are the sound of the ocean, the breath of fresh air, the brightest light and the darkest corner.  You are a collective of every experience you have had in your life.

    You are every single day."
